There might be spelling or grammatical errors throughout the text.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those are easier to clock as fake Instagram messages. IG even lets you <a href=\"https:\/\/help.instagram.com\/2619186038229847\/iphone-app-help\/?helpref=platform_switcher&amp;cms_platform=iphone-app\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">edit direct messages<\/a> now, so no one should have typos in their messages. A message from a brand seeking collaboration should never have typos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes, it\u2019s not that easy, and the messages may be perfectly crafted. Some of these fake messages attempt to imitate human writing. Does the message mention your name? If not, it could be a message that Instagram bots regularly send to creators.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Does it mention anything specific about your profile? If the person is reaching out to collaborate, do they say what is special about your page? When you get to the page, what do you see? Does the page look like a legitimate Instagram account? Or <a href=\"https:\/\/plixi.com\/resources\/fake-instagram-accounts-are-you-safe-on-the-platform\">does it look like a fake account?<\/a> Is there a profile picture or an Instagram bio?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Does it have a considerable following? Does it follow more pages than it has followers? Has the page been around for a long time? It should concern you if all of the posts are recent. They may have created all of the content to appear to be a legitimate page. Fake Instagram accounts send fake Instagram messages. It&#8217;s just that simple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You should avoid clicking on any links from a page like this. Instagram may purge this page from its platform one day. Then, if something malicious were to happen, you wouldn&#8217;t even have a page to report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Does_the_Page_Have_Engagement\"><\/span>3. Does the Page Have Engagement?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While on this page, you can check for a few other things. What is the engagement like on this page? You can&#8217;t just look at the follower count. You can <a href=\"https:\/\/plixi.com\/resources\/buy-instagram-followers-at-the-right-price-for-you\">buy fake followers<\/a> quite easily. What you need to do is look at the engagement on the posts. Little engagement is a dead giveaway that the page is fake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, <a href=\"https:\/\/plixi.com\/resources\/how-to-buy-likes-on-instagram-to-match-your-followers\">buying engagement for your Instagram page<\/a> is also available. This is when creators scramble to increase their <a href=\"https:\/\/plixi.com\/resources\/engagement-rate-on-instagram-the-number-that-really-matters\">engagement rate<\/a>. Yes, likes and comments are for sale, too. But the engagement will not look genuine. If all of you see are emojis, it is a red flag.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maybe you just see general comments that could apply to anything. They should also be a red flag. This is a great opportunity to use social proof for your safety. If many others do not trust this page, you should not either.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s go back to your Instagram DMs. If you are aware of this message, consider blocking the account and avoiding any links that the message sent you.
